Dr Marmara is a statistician and researcher by profession who has led numerous projects both at a national and international level. He lectures statistics inside the Department of Business and Enterprise Management of the University of Malta (UoM) and is a fellow member of the Royal Statistical society (UK).
In his professional capacity, Dr Marmara had been the lead of several research groups and analysed data to a high-level scientific extent. He is an expert in the remote gaming industry and has over 16 years of experience as a business intelligence analyst and consultant. Over the years Dr Marmara has occupied several key roles in various organisations – including: President of the Science Student Society, President of the Malta Statistics and Operations Research Organisation, Financial Officer of the National Youth Council, Deputy CEO and Chief Regulatory Officer within the Malta Lotteries and Gaming Authority and several other roles in various faculty boards and boards of studies at the University of Malta.
Academically, Dr Marmara obtained his first degree in Statistics, Operations Research and Mathematics from the University of Malta. He later read for a Master of Science in Statistics at the University of Sheffield (UK) and lastly was granted his Doctorate in Mathematics (Statistics) from the University of Stirling in Scotland.
Dr Vincent Marmara lends his professional consultancy services to various organisations and is also the author of several academic articles published in international journals and other national scientific surveys. His main research areas are, Epidemiology and health research, Sampling surveys, and Bayesian analysis.
