Mr Joseph Farrugia, is the Director General of the Malta Employers Association (MEA), a position which he has held since 2001. He is an expert marketing consultant and has extensive experience in human resource management. Mr Farrugia is also visiting lecturer at the Department of Marketing of the University of Malta.

Between 2010 and 2013 Mr Farrugia served as president of the Malta College of Art Science and Technology, which is the major vocational education institute in Malta. To this day Mr Farrugia sits on the board of directors of JobsPlus, the Employment Relations Board and is the representative of MEA on the Malta Council for Economic and Social Development.

On an international level Mr Joseph Farrugia has represented Maltese Employers in several international fora, including: The board of directors of the European foundation for the Improvement in Living and Working Conditions, the European Social Fund, SGI Europe, and the International Organisation of Employers.

Away from the professional sphere, Mr Joseph Farrugia is known as an artist. His paintings have been exhibited in numerous exhibitions both in Malta and abroad.
